B.Sc. (1974) LL.M. (1979) and Ph.D. (2003) all from Mysore University.

He joined as Lecturer at Vidyavardhaka Law College, Mysore, during 1979- 1985. Between 1985 and 1988 he had a brief stint of two and a half years as Commercial Tax Officer in Karnataka Government service. He was Lecturer at the University Law College, Dharwad during 1988-1992, and joined the Law School as Assistant Professor of Law (Senior) in June 1992. He was selected and appointed as Associate Professor in 1997 and subsequently as Additional Professor the same year. He was selected and appointed as Professor of Law in 2006. His areas of specialization include International Law, Environmental Law, Jurisprudence and Family Law. He is, at present, The Chair Professor, MHUPA Chair on Urban Poor and the Law. He is also the Editor of the Indian Journal of Environmental Law published from the Law School.

Dr. Sairam Bhat

B.Com (1994) from Mahajan First Grade College , Mysore , LL.B. (1997): J.S.S. Law College, Mysore, LL.M. (1999) and Ph.D. (2006) from University of Mysore .

Dr. Sairam Bhat joined NLSIU in 2000 as a Research Officer, Centre for Environmental Law, Education, Research and Advocacy (CEERA) till 2003. He was Assistant Professor at HNLU, Raipur , [2003-04]. He was Co-ordinator, at G.R. Kare College of Law, Margao, Goa from 2004 -2006. He joined NLSIU as Assistant Professor of Law in 2006. His areas of specialization include Contracts, Environmental Law,Constitutional Law and Right to Information Act.

Mr. Manjeri Subin Sunder Raj

(Assistant Professor (Ad Hoc), CEERA, MHUPA Chair on Urban Poor and the Law and Commons Cell)

B.A.LLB (NUALS), LL.M (CUSAT). He is currently pursuing Ph.D from NLSIU. Enrolled as an advocate under the Kerala Bar Council in July 2007 and was practicing law till he joined NLSIU in 2013. He has attended various national conferences, presented papers and also has a few publications. He was a Linnaeus-Palme Exchange Fellow at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden, 2013-14

Ms. Architha Narayanan 

(Assistant Professor (Ad-Hoc), Centre for Environmental Law Education, Research and Advocacy)

B.A. LL. B. (Hons.) RMLNLU, MA in Public Policy and Governance, Azim Premji University, Bangalore

She joined Commons Cell and the Centre for Environmental Law Education, Research & Advocacy (CEERA), NLSIU as a Research Associate in 2017. Was re-designated as Teaching Associate and then as Assistant Professor of Law in July, 2018.She is  a member of the Expert Panel on ABS and the Legal Advisory Committee to the Karnataka Biodiversity Board and has authored and co-authored chapters in multiple publications (A Primer on Biological Diversity, Access and Benefit Sharing, Public Affairs Index, March of Environmental Law etc.) and organized as well as presented papers in Seminars.

Her fields of interest include Contract law, Biodiversity Law, Arbitration and Urban Governance.

Mr. Raghav Parthasarathy 

(Teaching Assistant, Commons Cell & CEERA)

Raghav Parthasarathy is working as a Teaching Assistant at National Law School of India University, Bengaluru and is also a Practicing advocate. He was formerly a Judicial Clerk at the High Court of Karnataka and prior to which he practiced as an Advocate in the High Court, Civil Courts and other Tribunals. Raghav completed his LL.M in Energy Laws from University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Deharadun and did his LL.B. from J S S Law College, Mysuru. He has keen interest in academics and his practice areas include Property and Real estate Laws, Intellectual Property Laws, Electricity Laws and Environment Laws among others.

 Ms. Neha Singh(Teaching Assistant, Commons Cell & CEERA)

She joined the Centre in June, 2018 and since then I have been involved in a number of projects and programme undertaken by the centre. She is involved in a project with ICAR-IIWM, Bhubaneshwar to conduct the study on laws, rules and regulation of State and Centre Government governing water resources and has assisted the Centre in conducting multiple programmes.

 Her areas of interest are Energy law, International Trade law,  Space law and Corporate law.
