TWO-DAY NATIONAL SEMINAR ON SUSTAINABLE ENERGY FUTURE IN INDIA: LAW, MANAGEMENT AND POLICY

A two day national seminar was organised by the National Law School of India University, organised by the Centre for Environmental Education, Research and Advocacy [CEERA] on the 18th and 19th of September, 2017. This programme attracted the participation of more than 106 participants from all over the country. Inaugurated and addressed by the Honourable Vice Chancellor of NLSIU, Prof. (Dr.) R. Venkata Rao, the seminar was addressed by Prof. (Dr.) MK Ramesh and Prof. (Dr..) Sairam Bhat. Spanning over two days, there were three plenary sessions of eminent resource persons who spoke about various issues of Sustainable Development, Role of Energy in Sustainable Development and various other forms of alternate sources of energy which could contribute to the sustainable energy future of the country.
During these two days, all participants presented papers on their choice of topics as submitted and during the Valedictory Session, five participants were adjudged as Best Presenters, and given a momento by the Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) KC Sunny, Dean, Faculty of Law, University of Kerala. The programme concluded on a highly appreciated note by all participants who were not only students, but also law professors, members of the Energy Sector and other industrial organisations.
